Generally an alternator will not prevent a car from starting.
There is no signal going to the starter from the key. Electrical issues take a lot of patience and the source of the issue isn’t always staring you in the face. Just one step at a time.

My car doesn’t do the battery symbol on the dash but it keeps saying the auto store said my battery is good and I changed my fuel pump and starter is good because I hear the car turning but won’t start so I’m gonna change alternator if not that being the solver I might have to do the things you said in this vid my car is a 2014 A4 2.0t b8.5
What was the problem?
My car for the last week or so has been slightly hesitant to start. The battery light has never come on. This began last week when I sat for quite awhile at the airport with the engine off and I did not have the radio on but I did have the ignition button pushed to keep my phone charging. I eventually wanted to get out and walk and when I pushed the ignition button to put up the windows, they were really slow and I said oh shit, then I tried to start it and it wouldn’t start. My battery is only about a year old and I got it checked and the indicator showed good battery. 🤷🏽♂️
