Here are the pros and cons to installing lowering springs on your car

Lets start with pros,
The first pro is that it lowers your car, obviously. Lowering springs can give your car a better look than stock ride height.
The 2nd pro is improved handling. Lowering springs will stiffen up your suspension, as well as giving your car a lower center of gravity, which means better cornering and less body roll.
The last pro I’ll talk about is that lowering springs are cost EFFECTIVE, A super high end set is like $1000 bucks, but you can expect to spend $500 or less on a quality set of springs

For cons, the first one is wear on your car. If you’re keeping your stock shocks and struts, they’re wear out quicker, because they weren’t designed to be driven at that height.
The 2nd con goes hand in hand with wear, and that’s bottoming out. If you’re always bottoming out on speed bumps or above average rocks in the rode, you’re gunna start to destroy stuff in your wheel well.
The last con is comfortablilty, lowering springs will give you a bumpier ride than stock, but there are options for a softer set up.

  1. I remember the time I installed Megan racing lowering springs on my Honda CRX. Driving to and from work everyday really did feel like Ace Ventura 2.

  2. Handling is a double edged sword. Especially for cars with MacPherson struts, they were engineered to handle at a certain ride height. Lowering the car messes that up

  3. why not just cut the springs in your old oem struts… mine are already worn. Why would you buy springs when you can do it with the springs u already have?? Doesnt make sense
